Carrie's Story
My chronic back pain & numbness began after a Los Angeles fender bender at only 23. In LA via the NYC theatre scene, I was out of the country & out of insurance.
They didn't offer any insurance to the late-night, cable radio "disc jockeys" at the Hollywood station, ARN, where I was spinning female alternative artists, late-night in the early 2000s while pursuing acting and studying Yoga.
Yoga held my body until my first pregnancy at 34 when the pain returned with debilitating mental and physical weight. An endless cycle of pain ahead. After several months, bedridden with my baby, I lost hope and nearly ended my life to end the pain. In 2010 the blazing, red, hot rod of fire from my hip to pinkie toe, almost caused me to drop my baby off at the neighbors while I grabbed my husband's gun.
A micro-lumbar discectomy, by divine intervention. A one-of-a-kind surgeon/pain management team never fused my spine, nor prescribed narcotics. I woke up pain-free. For myself, and now my new life with my daughter, Rebirth. I approached my spinal health with an entirely new light.
At 47, I am now the healthiest I have ever been - Mind, Body & Soul.
Another child, once a Lifeguard & Swimming Instructor, then a barre3 Instructor, and now an RYT278 and a certified Flying Yoga Teacher. I tech Yoga privately in my home studio - Ohm Yoga, and at my teacher's studio, CircuSoul Yoga in Sarasota.
I am headed to Thailand this fall, for my first Yoga retreat, and my first trip to Asia.
